Please Help On This 9 1/2 Perforation 2 Cent Washington Red

can someone help me with this 2 cent red washington 9 1/1 perforations still has full perforation circles,which scott is it can't find it

Why start another thread on the same stamp? Perhaps the mods can delete this duplicate thread?

Try comparing it against a few other different perforation gauges since some gauges are not as accurate as other gauges.
Also, some used stamps have a tendency to get bent out of shape after they are pressed hard to dry after being soaked off.

First, take your stamp and compare it with other stamps which you have, preferably Washington-Franklins. Is the stamp overall the same size or is it slightly smaller?

If the stamp is the same size, you probably have fake perfs added to an imperforate stamp in an attempt to make it worth a lot more. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending your perspective), it was a botched job.

If the stamp is smaller, you have what is known as severe shrinkage. I've seen stamps which have lost a quarter or more of their size because of how they were handled/soaked and stored. This would make the stamp a novelty, but virtually worthless except to someone who was pursuing those for a very specialized collection. It's still not going to have any great value.

If a stamp shrinks, its gauge of perfs would increase, not decrease.
The problem is clearly with the gauge. Throw it away and get a good one.

ok thank you for the help,now with a new and it's the same results what then??If it is a real error then their would be more right??as used a new guage same results just Maybe the perforater was set incorrectly when stamps were cut?????
