I came across several U.S Air Mail fold-able envelopes either 11 or 13 cents. With adding the extra postage is it still legal to use them?

New rule on minimum envelope paper basis weight from last year says no, due to potential damage from their crappy high-speed machinery. That's 70 lb., about 3 times denser/heavier than typical copy paper. That's news to me, but explains why greeting card envelopes have gotten heavier.

Other countries still send aerogrammes to the US; good luck with those...
