Why would there be a Scott number for the sheetlet? All the stamps are the same. |

Scott won't assign a number for the Total Eclipse stamp until July or August. But, assuming they assign the numbers in order of issuance (which they usually do), it will likely be Scott 5210. Added: This assumes that the strawberry coil is assigned a number between the apple (5037) and grapes (5038) coils from 2016 ... which would probably be 5037A or 5037B. But, if instead, they assign the strawberry coil 5201, then the Eclipse would likely become 5211 while Thoreau would be 5202 and the ball stamps 5203-5210. |

I am very excited about this temperature sensitive inked stamp. Can't wait to get mine!
Wow, stamp production has certainly come a long way over the years. Think of the technology to make this stamp work. Amazing.

I stopped by the post office near my office just now to pick this one up. I usually just order from the website, but it was a nice day, so...
clerk: can I help you? me: Looking for new stamps. clerk: which ones? me: the eclipse stamps. clerk. We don't have them yet. me: Really? They came out on the 20th. clerk: We're lame.
No kidding. Actually conversation.

@DaveG28: I'm sorry your post office didn't have these.
I go to my local post office at least once a week, usually to have things hand canceled. I also ask about new stamps, particularly when I know from online that new ones should be out. The clerks all know me by sight now, so here is my experience today:
Me: These need to be hand canceled, please. Clerk: Sure. Oh, the new Eclipse stamps are here now, did you get them yet? Me: Great! Yes, I would like to buy some. Clerk: We also have some of these "protective sleeves" for 25 cents each. We only got 5 of the sleeves. Me: I will take 3 sheets and 2 protective sleeves. (We test and admire the heat of my thumb making the moon show up while the clerk rings up my purchase.)
On June 14, the "Have a Ball" stamps were at this post office and I was able to get several of them hand canceled on the first day of sale. |

gabriella: Well I'm a little jealous of that! This particular post office is the main branch in my city. They used to have one of those gloriouos philatelic windows. No matter how busy they were dealing with other types of transactions, I was always allowed to go there, and talk to a clerk who knew what we wanted and took good care of us. This clerk today shouted this exchanged to me from 10 feet away . I was next in line and she was still with another customer. |

Appears the Total Solar Eclipse press sheet has disappeared from the USPS Stamp Store website. |
