I heard from someone in the past, that stamps are copyrighted and we cannot replicate and sell it.

In that context, is the below item even legal?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1918-24-CEN...263076221189

Some "1978 date onwards" clause exists, but still the below one is also on sale.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1992-29-CEN...263073525056

The Seller admits these are reproductions. But that still doesn't make it a legal sale.

Am I right?

People do it all the time. And the revenue stamp law is kind of silly, since there have not been any federal revenues since 1971 and it is unlikely that there will be any ever again.

I think another term we could be using is "forgeries". For $10 you can buy $20 worth of postage here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/USA-1893-Co...AOSwYXVYyls~

or for $8 you can buy $18 worth of postage here:

Neither ebay nor the Post office seems to be the slightest bit concerned about this. ebay has never cared if illegal stuff is sold, as they make the same commission anyway. A lot of this stuff is from foreign countries, so it is hard to stop. But the PO could put pressure eon ebay (the only way ebay will ever shut this stuff down.)

The same guy is selling a whole sheet of C3 for $15,250. Is this a real sheet or another reproduction? He is selling it as a real sheet.

Most of his lots say COPIES in the description, but conveniently omitted in the lot header.
More like a bait and swindle.
I have dropped a message to him saying he is misleading and this is not ethical. yet to get a response back

I laughed when read C3a full Sheet on one of his items.
No one could be that crazy to sell it in ebay

He has 2 illustrations: one with the stamps perfed (as shown above), and one with them imperf. (I suppose you can choose which one you want, even though it says there's just 1 copy available -- lol!)

You can report this item. Where the description and shipping tabs begin on the left, there is a "report item" link on the far right.

When that form comes up, in the first field, Report Category, select "Prohibited and restricted items."

Then, in the second field, Reason for Report, select "Stamps, currency and coins."

Then, in the third field, Detailed Reason, select "Replica coins, replica paper money, and replica stamps."

Then click the blue box, "Submit report." And you're done!

I'm a newbie here(rookie stamp collector), don't get me wrong, but that 1918 24 cent inverted is pretty cool. It's a little pricey for a reproduction in my book. I'm just replying to the very first post. Sounds like these aren't even Chinese fakes, like the old US coins?? Thanks for my time here.
