Hi All

I am wondering if there is a good website that illustrates the DDR compass design official stamps? Is there anything that shows the different types and printings in detail?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks a lot

Hi Bujutsu

Try this site even though it's only in German
it might be some help

http://lumpus2000.piranho.de/ddr.htm

At the Menu bar on the left scroll down to DDR Bestimmungshilfen and
click on Dienstmarken

Here are a couple of links which translate
philatelic terms from German to English.

Bujutsu,

The "Lumpus 2000" site is probably one of the best sites you'll find about DDR official stamps without resorting to a Michel Spezial catalog.

I collect them in some detail. If you have a specific question, post it here and we'll give it a shot.

Experienced stamps need a home too. I'd rather have an example that is imperfect than no example.
I collect for enjoyment, not investment.

BUJUTSU - The best philatelic site in English to show the difference is THIS SITE . Give me a little while to take apart one of my old albums . It will have the Lithograph stamps that have the compass opening to the right and the other are Typograph with the compass opening to the left .

Hi All

Thank you all for your responses. I would have done so earlier, but, I had computer problems that last 4 days!. It fixed itself after an incomplete 4-hour update :(

I eagerly look forward to any help in here. I am breaking down a collection (accumulation) I got some years ago and have been putting it off on the official issues. I have a number of MLH and MNH (preferred way) stamps of the officials and the different types of the "5 Year Plan" issues as well and want to get them listed correctly for my albums.

Thanks again.
