Anthonys Fake 493 Coil Pair Must See To Believe

I would think that any person who bids on, or buys this item would submit it to the expertise's for certification.

Talk about an upside down and unfriendly forum. I took more heat than Anthonys and was actuall told thaf I was wasting peoples time. Good enough. It is obvious that the pillars of the community are very satisfied with the way things are. Talk amongst yourselves while the hobby dies. Strange that so many folks are so concerned that a crook such as Anthonys might get dinged mistakenly. LOL have a nice time playing with yourselves. FYI - The coil pair IS fake.

So a former Philatelic Foundation expert plus an acknowledged expert on W/F with over 40 years experience are both wrong because you say so.

The point was not about anyone being right or wrong. The topic itself brought out comments such as "I was going to delete the thread at the start" or "OP wasting everyones time". Why such umbrage at a topic being raised? Why such indignity that Anthonys material is being questioned? Reading through the forum it seems very much like a place for the pillars of the community to huff and puff never to be questioned.

I was going to delete the thread because it contained false information but not being an expert in Wash/Frank I thought it best wait until those whom I knew to be experts weighed in. How is that 'huff and puff'? I said nothing about you in any way.

I would add that few people have taken as much heat as myself for 'outting' bad listings in ebay; including this seller. In fact, I have received threats and other retribution/revenge attempts from various low-lifes. Edit: I have literally hundreds of man hours invested in this including a website and SQL database which is exclusively for communicating bad online listings.

You were right about his seller but in this case you were mistaken about this listing.

Rogdcam, at the beginning of this discussion I asked why you think it is a fake. You have made this assertion again, but have not given any details as to why you believe it is a fake. Many of the people posting here agree that Anthony's sells lots of problematic stamps, like:

which clearly is canceled.

But Anthony's also sell stamps like this:

which looks, to me, described correctly.

So, could you please explain what it is you see, beyond who is listing the stamps, that leads you to conclude that the stamps are fake?

I don't collect anything like this (no USA at all) but find this thread fascinating and informative. Could do without the emotionalism though :-)

Please don't delete this thread, some great information here. I never would have know about these types without this thread. We just need to focus on the song, not the singer......
