Hello all

I started buying stamps again, and with them come the questions.

I guess it's Iranian stamp - is it a regular one or tax/ postage due stamp?

I purchased both Scott and Gibbons catalogues. How should I use them when the stamp doesn't have identifiable state name or face value?

Thanks for any input.

If you're using Gibbons's Stamps of the World, it has guidance on recognising issuing countries at the beginning of the first volume.

Thank you for the fast reply.
Is this the 25 Iranian dinar stamp? I can't identify even Arabic numbers.

I have the DVD version - where should I look?

I think this is the 10 dinar

and mine is the 25 dinar.

BTW, I bought the simplified catalogues - what will I be missing?

Hmm, I am stumped, I was taking the left hand tablet to read "dinar"
and the right hand for the value,
I was using Turkish numerals and trying to relate it to the colour.
I look forward to a member for correction.

For SG? They won't have shades and varieties nor info on the latter.

Yes, the first stamp looks like the 25 dinar although the colour in the image looks a bit unusual to me.

Here's a link to the low values (and most of the larger, higher values) taken from Dr Cheng Chang's amazing World Stamp Album site:

Great catalog,I found the stamp there under official stamps.
As for the colour, I saw this online, which matches my colour more.
