I've been making some purchases recently at the APS store and I've noticed that some of the catalog numbers in the listings have a "v" suffix as in the image. Anyone know the significance?

Thanks,
Terry

Probably, since aniline (not analine) blue is mentioned. Why not ask APS, and also maybe ask why the more common "var" isn't used?

This is the response from the APS store:

Some of our sellers use alternate catalogs for pricing and place the "v" after the Scott number. In this case the seller is pricing based on Gibbons instead of Scott. Other times, the "v" is used to indicate a variety not listed in Scott, usually an imperforate.

Thank you, Terry, this is good to know (although slightly confusing).

The most common is that "v" stands for a variety not listed by Scott.
Here is an example used by Brookman in their catalog.
