I'm sure this has been asked before. But I'm looking to scan images of my stamps and wonder if there is an app for the iPhone to accomplish this. Appreciate any advice. Thanks.

There are a few apps like SCANNABLE that will scan documents and convert to text (OCR).
However, it seems to me that in the case of stamps, you won't really be "scanning" them as much as just photographing them. As you probably know, the quality of a pic will be lower than the quality of a true scan.
I am wondering what you would expect such an app to do, other than to just take a picture--which is a built-in feature of pretty much all cell phones these days?
Admin, thanks for moving my post to the right forum.
I'm looking for a better macro capability possibly for my iPhone. I think it's 8 megapixel camera, but there isn't a good macro function. I've found aftermarket lenses that attach but that's really not what I'm after. It'll take a decent picture the way it is. So, if there's nothing available no harm no foul.
Well, the trouble that I often see with cell phone pictures of stamps is that they are taken at an angle and the stamp is not flat, resulting in a rather distorted view of the stamp. Even a cheap computer printer/scanner produces better images.
Need a way to get the phone square with the stamp so it is taking a flat photo. Some sort of frame work, any thing to hold the phone in a fixed position in relation to the stamp.
Yea, I thought about using a small jig and a small drill press stand. But by the time I do all of that, time and energy. It might be easier to go pick up a decent camera and macro lens. I'll goof around with it and see what I can come up with.
I would just buy a scanner. I'm a big fan of the new Epson line of scanners. They're USB powered, have a kickstand so you can prop them up on their side, and are a great deal.
The V19 can be had refurbished on Amazon right now for $49.99.

There are also sheet feed scanners you can use to scan directly to a cloud storage solution like Dropbox, Google Drive, or an ftp server in your house.
