I inherited a stamp collection from my grandfather and I came across this stamp however the Scott # he listed was J30 but the color seems off to me. All the pictures I see listed under this number are more red and the one I have seems more towards purple.

Any help is much appreciated. Thank you! :)

Hi, difficult to tell for sure from your image, but appears to be faded?

Perhaps you could provide additional scans, maybe with a black background, also include scan(s) of the reverse.

Merpiparo, welcome to the forum. Your stamp could very well be J30 - these postage dues come in a wide range of colors. Your copy seems to have some problems, not in the least it is badly centered and perforation troubles.

The first problem is that J30 is perf 12; this stamp is perf 11. That makes it J62.

Agreed... positively J62 per below (rose red versus his deep claret)

That's easy enough to check since J29 and J30 fluoresce under long and short wavelength ultraviolet light and J31 and J32 don't according to Durland's.
