I bought my first press sheet. I just really like that group of stamps and thought the press sheet would make a great wall display.

I was wondering how people are storing their press sheets. Of course really to big to put in any type of a binder. I'm not sure if storing them in the mailing tube is a good idea. The sheet is a die cut.

Some day I want to do a picture mount. I was thinking of maybe trying to do it myself. Has anyone done this that can give me some tips.

I'm not going to collect press sheets they would take up way too much room if I did. However after getting this one I can see how collecting them can be addictive.

The sheet is a little over 24 by 13.

I have an 11 drawer map cabinet. I only have a few and they are 1930s-40s issues, but I keep my full press sheets in a couple drawers separated by sheets of archival scrapbook pages that are glued together with archival scrapbook glue.

If you frame one... Make sure your wall mount is in a space that gets no or very limited sun light. Direct and/or reflected sun light will cause damage faster than you might imagine. Also make sure your matting and backing are archival safe, and look into UV glass at your local frame shop.

If you're motivated enough to test this: Buy a couple identical low cost stamp panes, put one in a binder and the other in a frame and hang it, where you would want your full sheet hung. After 6 months to a year take it down and remove the pane from the frame and compare it with the one stored in a binder. That should give you an idea of any effects, at least short term.

I would add that you can find some good deals on the wide format file cabinets used to hold old CAD printouts. Since most companies have moved to digital, many engineering companies no long store CAD drawings printouts.

You won't find these on ebay, they would be too hard to ship. You have to call around to local used office furniture and fixture places. Bargain hard, they will ask a lot but these things have a very limited market now.

Cool some useful information from the both of you to consider. Honestly I never knew they had a UV type of glass you could use for this. But then again I never had a need prior to this.
