I am working on a new public online database of the stamps of France. I am seeking high resolution images of any French stamps 1940 to present.
If anyone already has these and is willing to assist in this project please contact me.
Database is already built and populated with images of the earlier stamps, I just need images of the post 1940 stamps. Don

Don, I have many on Steiner pages scanned at around 1100 x 1550 through around 1970. (mostly used) Not sure if that would be high enough resolution for you or not but if it is, let me know Here's a sample |

Hi Mike, Could you email a some of your images, I think I can work with them. Don GeoffHa, I understand that there are other French sites. This is what I have so far... This is the search By Scott number screen. The search by Yvert number and Michel number look the same. I thought that this might be a useful tool for folks who use Scott catalogs; hobbyists can quickly work with other catalog numbers when working with online listings and posts. I am not aware of any other online resource that has this capability (but perhaps I am wrong?). Additionally this is another Stamp Smarter community effort; hobbyists can become participating members with and add/edit to the database and export it their own computers for personal use if desired. I think these attributes makes this project fairly unique. Don |

OK. I can send you scans of post-1940 Yvert pages, pretty much complete, virtually all mint, if that would help. Let me know. Suggest you add SG numbers too.

Hi GeoffHa Yes, I have SG number in the database but have not yet gotten it fully populated so I have left it out of the webpages for now. Would love to get the images you mention. I will sent you my email address. Thank you! Don |

Hi Jerry, Thank you for the suggestions. I do not like Stampworld's terms and conditions; in my opinion they are harvesting emails and images. As you found out, they believe they own any images that are uploaded to them. (They couldn't allow others to use the images if they thought the uploader retained rights.) And if any legal action was required, I am not up for going to Belize to settle it. From their T&Cs Quote: Stampworld.com have the right to disclose personal information to third parties...we may transfer personal information if we are acquired by, sold to or merges with another entity... I am not sure I understand some of the T&C wording; it appears that English is not the first language of the writer. As such I have never signed up for an account and steer clear of using the site. But thank you for the suggestion. Don |

Hi Don
I did not have a problem with them using my e-mail address. The Yahoo e-mail allows one to create dummy addresses. I created one for StampWorld and after a couple of months I deleted it. It is really a neat feature of the e-mail system, which, fortunately, AT&T left in place.
I would like to help out as I once collected France (collection sold to finance my Colombia startup). I am not sure what I can do. I don't have office, so no EXCEL only WORD, and my computer is ailing (I am doing this in Safe Mode). However, if I can help with something let me know.
I really like that Studebaker! I think I mentioned it once before. My friend had a 60's mustang that he sold to a gentleman in Florida. The gentleman restored the car. The sad note is that, in a storm, a big tree fell on the car and totaled it.

Hi Jerry, Thanks. I hate hearing stories of cars that are lost. It is a bit like when a rare stamp multiple is cut up.
Floortrader, Prefer white background but other colors acceptable. Sets or singles ok. Multiple stamps per page is ok. Any file format is ok. Don |
