I liked the updated format of the American Philatelist - who will oversee the magazine going forward?

We will be seeking a new editor for the journal. Jay will be with us through 6 October and will be available to help with the transition.

I read the Linn's article and my impression they brought in Jay (sounds like a big promotion / raise plus closer to his family) so others can focus on improving the Scott catalogue. Maybe Amos is starting to see a need to revamp their catalogues.

Under Jay the look of the APS journal modernized (closer to what you see at Scott/Linn's) the look.

Wild thought - maybe Wayne Youngblood will add another editing job to his list.

Ugh, while I am happy for Jay, this stinks on a selfish level because I think he did a great job updating the AP. While he was editor, he really updated the AP into a sleeker journal. It had better articles and features, and the layout improved massively. Some of the things that have been added were the small monthly features on Classic Stamps and New Issues from Around the Globe. These were small little spreads, but were always informative and worth a quick read over.

I agree with knuppster. The AP improved dramatically under Jay. I hope the APS finds a new editor who can pick up where Jay left off.

I would like to add that the job description should include work related to content for social media venues. As written the focus seems to be on print. I know many members shun places like Facebook for various reasons (some very valid) but it is where the younger go every day.
