Hello everyone. I have this Airmail postcard from Sweden 1945 it was in a collection of Dutch air mail covers. I am trying to find information on this card. The Dutch airmail catalogue gives me a date for a Stockholm-Amsterdam flight on July 28, 1945. The card is dated for the July 24th and cancelled on the 23th. I know that flights were sometimes delayed due to weather, mechanical problems etc. But I have not been able to find anything. Is there an Swedisch airmail specialist out there that can help me with information? Kind regards, Johan.

Johan, a nice item! I think you may be correct that the flight was planned for, let us say, 25th July. Mail, such as you card, was prepared and cancelled ready for the flight, but delays on the day meant the flight didn't leave until 28th. To me this seems a logical explanation for the difference in the two dates.

I am not an expert on Swedish or Dutch airmail, but the difficulty is that for some reason this cover was not back stamped on its arrival. All I can see is a Dutch censor marking on the front which unfortunately has no date. Hopefully someone who knows about these covers will be able to provide some details as to whether this one was actually flown.
