Even google captured it!

Wondering if we can capture this event as a link?

Does anyone have any eclipse stamps?

The sky was very clear and we had about 95% here so it was fairly dark but not real dark.

Was just a few miles (<15) from the totality path, skies were cloudless from my back yard. After the darkness and as the sunlight came back up the roosters down the street started making all kinds of noise. Was my second total eclipse. I remembered the darkness being an eerie kind of light and shadows, and indeed it was.

I'm waiting for 2024. The path should come pretty close to where I live.

I drove a couple hours to the path of totality and had mostly cloudy skies during the eclipse. Caught glimpses of the partial at times, but during totality could only see a fuzzy disk through the clouds. Didn't get much of a show, unfortunately, other than it getting dark for a couple minutes.

I got to see about 90% eclipse from where I live, using a camera obscura made from a cereal box. Also watched live TV coverage of totality in Oregon, which was pretty exciting even if not the same as being there.

As for stamps, I had bought 3 sheets soon after they first came out and had already used a few. This morning I got some hand canceled, one to myself (for regular delivery) and some to people I know.

Drove about 200 miles to Carrier Mills, Illinois for a spectacular 2:11 of totality. Wife and I had a small village park almost to ourselves back off of the main roads. Well worth the two hour traffic jam getting back to the interstate. 2024 center line will go about a mile southeast of my house. Hope to be here for the event.

About 85% totality here. A big cloud swooped in right at the peak of the eclipse.

The spots aren't dirt on the lens, those are active sun spots.

Taken with a Sony A300 Digital SLR and a 700MM telescope.

My shutter bug wife also played around with a #14 piece of welder's glass taped to her lens and got some interesting effects.
