What is on the front of the card. That may help?
By the way the cancel seems to read "Yankeetown".

Peter.
I read IND as Indiana, which is OK for the bottom of the CDS (circular date stamp)

The "1908" is inverted.

A post office was established at Yankeetown in 1853, and remained in operation until 1911. The community was officially laid out in 1858, and was so named for the fact the first settlers were Yankees.

Hi bobone, do you have a scanner, or access to a scanner.

Scan just the cancel if you can, then play with the photo effects software. You might be able to enhance the cancel somewhat, then print it out, I use a black & white printer, seems to work better on cancels. Not as pretty as a color printer, but seems to work for me in black & white.

Good luck.
