If I may say it publicly, you have a good mind and you are making progress. When you say you did not mean to offend, I think we all can believe you. But the tone of what you were asking and the way you went about it did not sit well. The fact that the closeups were distorted did not help. That you intentionally withheld important information about the material, that is what crossed the line.
Can an expert spot an E-grill without having it all clearly visible? Sometimes. Can he give an expert assessment of it? No. Why not? Because other factors not in evidence might alter his overall opinion of what he thinks he is seeing. Does your stamp have an E-grill? Yes, but....
I understand frustration and the things to which it can lead. Hang in there and we can get you through it, if you give us an honest chance. At least you don't knowingly damage the material. We once had another seeker here who did.
I think it is important to remember that folks donate their time to try to help others. Withholding information might be thought of as being inconsiderate by those who may not want to fool around with riddles or quizzes.
But I agree with essayk, I am sure your intentions were good but please keep this mind. Don
Thank you essayk and Don. It's nice to hear the progress judgement by an expert...
Additionally, please always keep in mind in my posts that: a. I am not a native English speaker and don't live in GB or USA, just school and business English b. I am a stamp beginner, half a year ago I even didn't know how to measure perforations, really.
I understand that it takes time to help and discuss here and I appreciate it. And sometimes it's like a quiz or a "give me an introduction", that's just because a beginner perhaps can't ask the questions more precise. But I won't show a grill without the stamp information from now on, for sure :).
