Good Afternoon,
For many years I would shop at my local stamp store (it has now gone out of business) and would buy a "Fun Box". The owner put these together and would include loose stamps, covers, stamps on album pages, stock book pages, and misc. items. Some were US only; some were world wide; and some were mixed. It was always such fun going
through them - you wouldn't find any great values, but I often found
some things I could use for my collection. Now that my local brick
and mortar store is gone, are there any online dealers that do something similar? I don't buy on ebay and I don't really want just kiloware.
Thanks for any information you can provide,
Wendy

Wendy, one thing would be to become an APS member and subscribe to their circuits. It is not exactly the same, but feels sort of loke it

There are usually quite a few of these mixed lots in auctions - plenty of junk to sort!

Go to the StampAuctionNetwork site and peruse Kelleher, Status International, Cherrystone and Alan Blair amongst others. You can get one stockbook full of goodies or 19 cartons of mind bending bliss.

You could join a local stamp club. My club has a "Fun Box" like you described that members will take out what they want and replace with similar value items. The box comes back each meeting and new person gets to take it from there.

Do a google for Dr. Robert Friedman and Sons. I buy collections from them semi-regularly.

I'd second that. Members can be very generous with their duplicates.

If you collect WW, I recommend the ISWSC swap circuits.

Sounds like WENDY is looking for larger lots ,something to spend time with sorting and discovery ,not individual stamps .

Yes. Larger lots and not from the big pricey auction houses with 18%-20% add on.

It is always great to know someone who works at a charity that receives donations in the mail. However, the charity may not want to give the whole envelope away so they can provide some semblance of confidentiality.
