Hi Rod, A deminer is a highly trained person who has learned to defuse mines and clear them out of the landscape. Horribly dangerous work. In Africa there are now in addition to all sorts of technical equipment also trained rats who are able to sniff out the devices! They don't weigh enough to cause detonation and have helped to demine large areas of Mozambique. It could be a deminer walking next to Diana in the Angola expedition pictured in the Grenada stamp. It is part of a set of 6, featuring Diana's charity work, 1997.

(By the way, it was interesting to learn that the "Ich Dien" coat of arms belongs to the Prince of Wales and goes way back to the 14th century! At first I wondered if it had any relevance to the large number of German-speaking settlers in WA. K.)

Another stamp in the Grenada set: Diana at the Neves Bendinha workshop in Luanda, Angola, which makes crutches and prostheses for the many children and adults who had their limbs blown away by land mines.

Sixty-four states and areas are contaminated by antipersonnel mines as of October 2016. The International Campaign to Ban Landmines was founded in 1992. The Mine Ban Treaty was opened for signatures in 1997 (in Canada). Landmine Monitor provides a report.

Sandra, the 13 year old girl who lost her left leg through contact with a mine is often pictured on stamps showing photos of Diana's Angolan trip. (I wonder if one of these is a fake.)

Diana in Angola, 1997. Togo, for the 15th anniversary of her death. Diana was also a patron of the Red Cross. The coat of arms is that of the House of Spencer and decorated with the blue ribbon it is that of Diana herself.

I'm not sure if this might be another commemorative put out for collectors and revenue, but not for mailing letters.

This new commemorative picks up again the anti-mine work Diana did during her last year of life.

(Hi Outremer, That's a nice new set. K.)
