Another stamp from an island, St. Kitts. 15th memorial anniversary. I hope they recover from the hurricanes down there this year.

(Hi Rod, Well I never heard of Steep Holm either, but it does look steep and "holm" is the nordic word for small island near the coast, as in Stockholm. K.)

Interesting.
Those dashed Vikings, took our silver, and left their names....

There is a "Holm Island" in the River Thames.... (A nice Tautology there)

The island is noted for its largest house of the two main plots, "The Nest", which was used as a hideaway by the future Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson during the 1930s.

Union Island is one of the Grenadines and St. Vincent islands in the Caribbean, somewhat south of the main island. I wonder if Diana did some island hopping in a helicopter down there.

(Hi Rod, I think I found Holm Island on the map but I didn't see any hideaway house; it must have been rather cold and damp out there. K.)

Hi Kris,
"The Nest" disappeared after 1930 it seems.

On this little sheet both the roses named after Diana are pictured and of course her two dear boys.

Tchad chose a backdrop depicting the 1900 World's Fair in Paris for their Diana stamp of 1999, a millennium stamp. Scan of the magazine 'Figaro' I found on the web. The celestial globe had a diameter of 46 meters!

(Assume Bogus)

Unusual modern look, on the Cover of Bazaar.....she was a big fan of "Duran Duran" possibly that era.

The middle stamp shows the Harper's Bazaar cover from November 1997 (after her death) of a portrait taken in 1991.

A pretty sheet from the Maldives (no idea if it is bogus, it's a borrowed scan).

(Nice addition, Rod. Recently I spent quite some time among dealers at our large bourse over here and discovered that most of them don't mind making money on pretty sheets of various kinds without knowing whether they are bogus or not. K.)

It seems to me, when collecting Thematics, unless one is exhibiting, then anything is fair game. I like that attitude. All sorts of stuff can surface.

I generally state legitimacy, for the record, beyond that it really doesn't bother me.

Now off to see 22 Crows link......

Wow!

Diana with a view of Hampton Court Palace, a vast palace on the Thames just west of London. Inside it is lavishly decorated; it was a favorite of Henry VIII.

Hi, Rod, Thanks for the info. Nice 'cover' and I agree, the topic of the stamp/cover may be more interesting than whether it is for real or not, but I don't buy it if I'm not sure. K.

Today the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. was honored. Diana admired him for his ceaseless fight for justice and equality.
