.Oh well, I just surround myself with stamps and I will be OK....

TheArtfulHinger - that sounds kind of sad. I'm fortunate to share this hobby with my brother, and honestly I think collecting would not have been the same without him to share thoughts with and get inspiration from. Luckily this friendly forum is a splendid compensation when unable to meet any fellow collectors/lunatics in person

"After reading these stories, it will be sooner or later that my twins will do something. They will be three in December, but so far so good. They haven't messed with any stamps or covers. The worst damage I've ever had was a few cheap covers nibbled by one of the cats when they knocked a box over."

Somewhere, I have photos and video of my daughter as an infant barely able to sit up, rifling through a box of my retail cover stock, picking out a cover, taking it out of its sleeve, and trying to eat it. (luckily, she missed the 1847 issue cover in the box and picked an inexpensive banknote issue cover). She's now 14 and a youth champions of champions exhibitor.
