My geography teacher used to say that collecting stamps should teach you history, geography and languages all in one. There's huge amounts of stuff in the catalogues but trying to get a little more information on the "back-story" of an issue of stamps is half the fun, especially if you have an inquisitive mind. This forum is pretty handy too...
