thank you - that was a good hint. As there is a gap in "Pa." I guess it will probably be a 231?

But in both cases I have to insist again a little bit - as always...:). The lines are 11mm apart, not 12mm as for 230 and 231. So is this the normal variation for metal devices, or should I research even longer for this type...?

They are what is listed as PSS-230. I think the catalog editors will put a little more wiggle room in the type descriptions in the new 8th edition Town & Type catalog as many (too many to enumerate) slight exceptions to the spacing exist within listed types. The P-A spacing could be a matter of opinion as it is not VERY wide. I would not expect a change to type 231. The editors reserve 231 for states with more letters like Fergus Falls Minn -

Thank you again. Yes, it's not a huge spacing, but still obvious, but you're are right about the "opinion". I have understood this now that the line spacing (11mm and not 12mm) and the letter spacing ("P-a") is a part of the normal variation of those metal devices.
