Good Evening,

As fun as identifying a stamps color from 1863 could POSSIBLY be (given time, etc.) I'm hoping my scan can help sort this stamp out. I am not well versed in colors of red - let alone colors of red that are over 150 years old.

Choices from Stanley Gibbons are:
"Rosy Mauve"
"Dull Rose"
"Vermillion"

Thanks for looking!

Opinion:
I'd call your colour "brick red"

Otherwise "Dull Rose", def not rosy mauve, or vermilion in my opinion (Vermilion only has 1 "L")

Thank you.
That is a very nice stamp.
Always enjoy seeing the early Rose Engine filagree stamps.
