This reminds me of the snuff tax paid stamps.

At this point, I'd like to see an actual vertical pair, imperf. between of this stamp.

If none actually exists, I personally would lean towards a "correction" in the Scott catalog, for the time being.

Mr. Drummond: I have never tried to hide my identity. Wtcrowe = W T Crowe. I simply asked the question based on my past experience with manipulated philatelic items. It was not an attempt to cast aspersions on your expertise, but I have found that occasionally we cannot see the forest for the trees.
