I have an example (which I believe is pretty common)of an airmail between the UK and Switzerland from 1943, it bears 2 censor markings, from UK and Germany. Does anyone know how the airmail between the UK and Switzerland used to work in WW2? I hardly see any British airplane being allowed to fly over german occupied area.

Great link perf12. The german sensor mark according to the link is from Paris. So my best guess is: UK-Portugal by airmail, from there by train or airplane to Paris, and then, by train or airway to Switzerland. If anyone has more info, that would be great.
According to "Airmail Operations During WWII" by Thomas Boyle, Mail from GB to Switzerland: 10 Jul 1940 to end of war but with many interruptions in service: To Lisbon via KLM or BOAC: by train, truck or Spanish airline to Marseilles, by train or truck to Switzerland.
However, due to the Paris German censor mark ("x"), I think we can safely say Paris in this case, rather than Marseilles.
