I cannot seem to pin this one down. The color is decidely orange and I have searched and searched and can find no information on this issue being anything other than red, pale rose etc.. Any help would be appreciated.

I checked my Zumstein special catalog and there was a printing in 1897 of this stamp that has the color "zinnober" or in English cinnabar. Looking it up on Google it could very well be your color?

Thank you for the information. It certainly does look like a good match color wise. I am having a devil of a time finding information on the actual issue that I have though.

I do not know exactly what you are after, but here is what I have. Your stamp seems to be from the 1889 issue that has changed colors. The 10 cent was issued in several shades from karmin in 1893, rosekarmin to zinnober in 1897 and finally zinnoberrot.
I have no idea why this color is not just called orange, because it looks like orange to me?

Thank you Petert. I only have a Scott catalog to go by and they do not list the zinnober.
