I've had a different (but recurring) problem with
ebay. I buy quite a few cheaper items (postcards, covers, stamps) from sellers who tell me they combine for shipping. These are often sellers I've dealt with for years (I've been on
ebay since 1998). Auction ending times vary, so I usually wait a few days, with no problems. Usually.
Today I got my bidding privileges revoked. Seems seven days from initial invoicing--it's automatically done by
ebay for the seller, I was told--eBay decided the two covers I had won needed to be paid for ASAP. Two covers, two dollars, plus six bucks for shipping.
To heck with waiting for additional items to combine for shipping! This has happened twice previously, same situation, over the past few years, So now I can't pay for the items, I can't email the seller, I can't even get a hold of
ebay on the phone...yesterday I hung up after nearly an hour of being on hold.
Frustrating as heck! Luckily I have a newer user name I keep handy for such situations, but, c'mon, can't
ebay figure things like this might happen more than a few times? I have one seller based in Europe who has not been able to unblock me from bidding. Apparently the high-volume seller can't figure out simple stuff like not accidentally blocking sellers like me (I sent them a snail-mail postcard so we could finally communicate!)
