Scott / Unitrade #34 ½¢ Major Re-Entry?

Comparing this stamp to the one on re-entries.com site I think I might have a good candidate for a 34vi major re-entry position 1R98.

Your stamp shows some similarities to pp98, except that in 1R98 there is heavy doubling of the engraving on the neck. There is a specialist reader here who has an excellent half-cent SQ collection, and he may be better than me to nail down a plate position for your re-entry.

I see the exact same 2 dots in the letter "H" in the word half and I see what looks to be the mark in the top of the letter E of postage and the mark in the lower part of the letter G in postage as well.

Question for the re-entries specialists on this Forum:
What do you think of Hans Reiche's (Constant Plate Varieties of the Canada Small Queens)assertion that the 1/2 cent presents numerous minor re-entries and that precise description or illustration would be very difficult. Reiche starts his small paragraph on the 1/2 cent: "Most of the re-entries on the 1/2 cent are so minor that they hardly deserve mentioning".

This booklet was published in 1961 by the BNAPS.......so I guess things have changed since ??

I got this book Renden...All black and white and pen marks showing varieties..could have been done better..But useful information...I believe it was not completely Hans book, but was put together by another gentleman.

Sent images to the re-entries dot com site for an opinion, will report back if and when I get a response. Last time I sent him images he was very kind and replied quickly with a confirmation.

Well I received confirmation from the owner of re-entries dot com.

"Thanks for the scans. I¹m sorry, but your half cent SQ is not even close to being 1R98"

Oh well, back to the hunt. Thought I had something close but it didn't turn out as hoped. Very thankful for his reply, he really is a gentleman and a scholar and very knowledgeable in this area so I'll take his word for it.
