I have been buying howid shaufix mounts on ebay for quite some time, but I was wondering if there was a more affordable way to buy a lot of mounts. I use clear top opening mounts. I prefer the long strips that I can cut to size, but if there are any great deals on the pre-cut I'd be more than willing to give it a try. If you buy from ebay, I'd love to know of the seller, and if it's from a company, I'd love to know more.

-Thanks -Jake

I buy most of my mounts; virtually all Showguard; from Arapahoe Coin and Stamp in Littleton, CO. Possible a bit more expensive than via online. But I'm willing to pay some extra to keep a brick & mortar store in business.

"Interested in buying"

I sent an identical email to all the stamp shops / companies I knew of,
suggesting I was interested in buying stamp mounts, that they may want to quit.

I was prepared to buy Black or Clear, part packs, used mounts (without creases) in lots of $100 or more.

I had 3 replies, 2 from Australia, I purchased at about 30% of retail,
and then bought 7 Kilograms of mounts from Canada.

"Seek and ye shall find"
Good Luck.

Climber Steve,

I also buy my mounts at Arapahoe Coin and Stamp, at least since moving to Centennial in February of this year. Glad to see another Coloradoan here! I tend to buy precut mounts for definitives, commemoratives, and souvenir sheets, and strips (265 x 25 and other sizes) for plate number coils and larger pieces. I use a ShowGard guillotine to cut strip mounts to size.

I mail order mine from Global Stamps out of Washington State. Their prices on mounts are heavily discounted. Free S/H on all orders above $25. They send orders Priority Mail, and I usually have it within 3 days of ordering.

+1 for Global Stamps. I've been ordering from them for 7+ years, and the service always has been very fast. Their Priority Mail envelopes arrive covered with stamps.

I've been buying mounts from Global Stamps for many years. Good prices, good product, free shipping over $25, and they use stamps on their mailings.

Yes, you are all correct that Global sends their envelopes with stamps to cover postage. My last order had about 24 stamps on the package. But, the "Stamp Nazi" drew a line through every one of them with her marker!

Stamp shows are great finds. You can usually get a discount if you buy several mounts. Just specify if you want clear or black mounts.
