I picked up an old collection which had 5 Columbian cut squares mounted on a page. The one in the lower right, which is "Five Cents," definitely appears to be a different shade than the one directly above it. Could this be the rare: U350a 5cent Slate Brown error?

The 10c value is the slate brown color (more slate than brown, if you ask me), if you re-check your catalog listings. That color was mistakely used for some of the 5c values.

Might be worth checking the Siegel Power Search for these

Lots of good information has been presented, but to answer the OP's original question: "Could this be the rare: U350a 5cent Slate Brown error?"

My opinion is no. Both 5 center Columbians are within the normal range for a brown indicium.

I agree with Thomas about the color. Also, the paper indicates this item spent too much time in the sun.
