Scrooge met the Ghost of Christmas Present and learned about being compassionate. A turkey was among the many gifts he saw. Part of a set of four in a souvenir sheet of 1970.

The legend of the beautiful Princess/Daughter who disguised herself in the donkey's skin, written by Perrault, is well known and has even been adapted to theater and movies. The turkeys in the background were probably included because the princess watched over a flock of turkeys, as seen in the old picture I found on the web. Turkeys had already been imported to France by the 17th century. stamp of 1978
