I need some help identifying this.

The stamp is perf 13¼x13½, overall phosphor paper

Scott (2005 version) only lists
675B perf 13½x14 litho
685B perf 8½ litho
816A perf 13x13½ photogravure

SG Brunei, Malaysia, and Singapore, 2nd Edition.
784 Perf 13x13½ litho
785 Perf 13x13½ litho
785b Perf 13x13½ broad phoshor band
785c Perf 13x13½ gravure

Stampworld
752 Perf 13x13½ - no mention of print method

I could not find the 20c stingray in my Malaysia Singapore and Brueni 25th edition.

Stampworld got the perfs right but thinking it is the 785c since it looks gravure to me although the "for local addresses" looks like it was printed using another method.

Thoughts?

You appear to have SG784. I think the quarter was rounded down to 13. SG785, SG785a and 785b are self-adhesive stamps, with 'perf' 9.

The difference between 784 and 785c is noted thus: On No.784 the 'y' of 'stingray' is to the right of the 'A' in Singapore; on No.785c it is under the left leg of the 'A'.

The Stingray was never issued with the 20c denomination.

Thanks. I saw that in SG and just forgot about it. The Scott equivalent is 675B.

Also, I did finally find in the MS&B as NV-2 (non-demoninated stamps have a separate section) but does not list the gravure versions.

It will probably be at "back of book" under NVI
Oops... did not spot I did finally find in the MS&B as NV-2

Here is my 22nd edition listing (the very last listing in my catalogue)

22crows, 20c was the "hidden" value at release.

The stamp was never issued showing a denomination of 20c. It was only ever issued with the For Local Addresses Only showing. At the time of its release (Nov. 1994) this cost was 20c. During 1995 the going rate for the For Local Addresses Only stamps rose to 22c. When the later version was released in 1997, the going rate for this was still 22c.

22crows,

Then what I was read was correct although I did not state it precisely enough, I agree it never had a demonination (always local addresses only) but when the stamp went on sale initially it sold for 20c and later went to 22c.
