Hello all,

Looking for some resources to help me identify some stamps from Orcha state in India, specifically on some stamps circa 1900-1905, and of there's a way to tell if they're forgeries or not. Sorry I don't have a photo handy as I'm sending this on my lunch break at work.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Eros

These stamps have been faked for a long time, and quite extensiely. Wait till you get home and scan them, we can possibly help you right here,

Here's a quick scan of the stamp. Let me know if this works for you, I can also snap a pic and link to my Google drive if needs be.

TIA
Eros

It's a forgery. On the genuine stamps, there is a much bigger gap between the 'ONE' and the 'ANNA'.

Is there a known image DB of authentic stamps that I could compare mine to for reference?

I have a complete sheet of the 1 Anna value, but I can't show it here. Last time I tried to link to a Photobucket image here, I received a mis-spelled and hypocritical message disallowing it. Frankly, I have better things to do with my time than to jump through hoops to access this site; if you're still interested, send me a private email, and I'll send you a link to the sheet.

Tony, have you thought about Flickr? It's free and still works great here.
