I used to have Word Starter 2010 which allowed for editing .doc and .docx files but after several updates it is missing from my computer. Any help is greatly appreciated in getting it. Thanks.
A lot of things seem to have gone crazy at the last Windows update. I ended up with serious monitor issues which fortunately I solved. If you can't get Word Starter started again, I suggest you install Open Office which handles doc and docs files pretty well.
Hi jogil, Easiest way is to run a 'repair' and it should put the shortcut back for you.
1. Go to Control Panel, Programs and Features 2. Right click on the Microsoft Office Starter and select Repair. Note: if it only gives two options 'uninstall' and 'change' then click on 'change' to get the 'repair' option. 3. Run Repair
1. Open Device Manager 2. Double click on "Display adapters" 3. Double click on the the name of your graphics adapter, in my case "ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series", to open the Properties box. 4. Click on the "Driver" tab 5. Click on the "Roll Back Driver" button.
LibreOffice, Free Open Source Software (FOSS), is mature, stable, and reliable. It does everything MSWord does, can read/write files from virtually any other office suite.
