Lot number 2445 in the upcoming Daniel Kelleher auction sale number 709 is a copy of RF16, not RF7 as described.

That vermilion "8 Cts." is pretty hard to not miss.

Maybe because the stamp is illustrated upside down for some reason?

RF16 catalogs ninety cents.

Accident or intentional?

Jim

More pictures of RF16 here:

Search for:
"RF16, AKA Ruined RF7?"

This happens regularly with RF15, somewhat less with RF7. It comes from not reading the catalog and not really knowing or caring about revenues.

Don't really expect that from Kelleher.

But I guess times change.

Renden,

Ok, but to be fair, I did post this in the "U.S. back of the book" section of this forum.

Thus the country was pretty self evident, I would think...

Kelleher has been weak on revenues for a long time.

Renden,

No worries.

You did have me wondering for a few minutes there if my sanity level had dropped again and I was posting somewhere where I shouldn't have.

It's not as hard to confuse me as it used to be...

Ahh, don't be so hard on yourself, Jim. Posting this in the World Precancels folder was a perfectly logical thing to do.

This is one of the most common mistakes made by those who are not knowledgeable in revenue stamps.
