Need Instructions On Adding A Quote To Your Answer

I see a number of answers to posts that refer to an earlier post by showing a boxed in "Quote". Can someone explain how that is done? I think it's much better than just responding to a post where you'd need to scroll back through many others to see what the answer was referring to. Thank you in advance!

Using 'Full Reply'...
1. Copy and Paste the quote text
2. Highlight the quote, then click on the 'Insert Quote' button (second from the right)

From 'Quick Reply'...
1. Copy and Paste the quote text
2. Add the following tags before and after the quote text

Don is (as always) timely, thorough, and correct. If I could add just one tip/hint to the process. It's a subtle alternative to Don's method using 'Full Reply' :

1. Copy the text you plan to quote.
2. Click the quote button as shown by Don:

Notice the quote tags are inserted and the cursor is automatically placed between the quote tags.

3. Use CTRL+V to paste and your text will go in the perfect place between the tags.
