Could you provide a link to your plating project please. I have a couple of stamps with marks that I would like to try & identify. |

Dynamore, The 1st one appears to be position 20, illustrated by the left position dot in margin, and the faint vertical guideline in the right part (a characteristic of the last columns), just east of the E of postage. The 2nd one is position 88, which is identified per the position dots on the 2 small ovals (left and right of the main oval, and more specifically, the oblique bar in the lower left 7. I trust this helps. |

Gilles le timbre. Thanks very much for the position information.
If it helps in the future, I have a book titled; Some Phases of the Canada 1859 issue by Senator Calder. Not got round to reading it yet, I am leaving it until I get round to my 5c beaver stamps, as it seems to be mainly concerning them. But if it has any information you need let me know.
Good luck with your plating project. |

Dynamode, I have been looking for the Calder book for a while. I have about 20 17c Cartier not positively identified yet, and would be interested in borrowing (or purchasing, or renting...) your Calder book. I also have the 5c Beaver book from Withworth, if you need info from it. |

Gilles le timbre. Will happily scan the relevant pages you need when I have some time. Much of the book is about the beaver stamps.
There are no pictures of the 17c, or any other stamp. It does have 9 seperate pages tucked away in the back, showing varieties from plate 1 to 9 of the beaver stamp. The pages are slightly yellowed, and it does not want to fold flat easily. But should be ok, it has wide margins on the pages. I can raise the scanner and hang the book outside. Tell me what dpi to use, and your email to send them to.
I have the Whitworth book thanks. Another book I am saving for a rainy day. |

As of June 20th, the project is almost complete, with 99 out of 100 positions posted. (missing only position 74) Up-dated link is available on stampsmarter site at https://stampsmarter.org/features/C...ateHome.htmlBelow is a scan of pos 74, from proof sheet used in preparation of the Kershaw book, in case someone has a copy they could spare. Key featutes are the ear travelling dot, position dot at 3 o'clock on the left oval and a faint mark in the margin right of the Large oval, N-E of the E of postage. |
