I couldn't agree more with the above. After collecting U.S. only for decades I've switched to WW. So many beautiful stamps, so little time.
I don't equate value with collectability, as there are many low-value stamps that are beautiful.
I collect to study the workmanship that went into the engravings to produce the stamps. The knowledge I have of the issues that I specialize in helps me get more for the stamps that I choose to sell, but that is just a side effect.
