How many old ERD (Earliest recorded date) are out there..Here is a couple I have come across hunting through boxes..

First one is a UX1 From Toronto to Montreal on June 8th. 1875.

Here is a UX3 from Montreal to Switzerland...May 2nd, 1895

Would like to see a few more from the forum..
Will dig deeper into my pile in the mean time.

Good to hear you are familiar with the Longest covered bridge in the World, in Hartland and its history of two Prime Ministers of the Province, Hugh John Fleming and Richard Hatfield, two "conservatives" must I say.

Robert, the cards need a cancellation to be considered an earliest recorded date.

I am baffled reading this thread. ERD? Four years after issue? The other almost 20 years after UPU? Hartland? Loved the bridge, and the NB people. Wilson? The ball from Cast Away? You mean Willson, maybe? I think I need a beer...

Robert

Here is a nice post card sent to Aylmer Ontario on Dec.4th,1897...But as you can see from the back of the card some one wrote "Aylmer Dec.5th,1897" not here return to sender with an Aylmer cancel.

Kinda neat.
