New Member, Very Old Collector

Hi everyone,
I started collecting when I turned 8 and now I'm 87, so I qualify for being a very old collector.
I collect US used stamps with very light cancellation. When self-adhesive stamps were introduced I quit collecting, but now I've started again. I've got a lot to catch up on.
At the time I collected there was no internet, and thus no forums; the world has changed and now I can talk to fellow collectors easily.
I've got a problem buying stamps : there was a time when every communituy had stores selling philatelic equipment and collectable stamps. Today I've got to buy them online, and sometimes I get stamps in a non-collectable condition.
Anyway, that's my story and my introduction.

Welcome to our group, and congratuations on your longevity in collecting (and life)!

I think if you traded or bought stamps here the collectors will have better condition stamps, I wold hope! Online and auctions can be tricky, but a lot of us DO use them. You can see a lot of items for sale in the column to the left, blue heading "New SCF Member Sales" also lots of members sell on ebay and other places.
