A Desperate Cry For Help!

I've never really put myself out there before...
here's my story...
I inherited my collection over 20 years ago and I've been adding to it ever since. my nan and granddad were keen collectors, they had passion, and wasn't just interested in 'stamps' they use to educate me in the most amazing ways..
I'm keen to learn about my stamps and I really don't know who to talk to, I've taken them to shops but I guess because I look young and I'm a girl I get judged and the collection doesn't even get looked at..
I guess I thought joining a forum would be a good start...
so here I am begging and pleading for help...
anyways that's enough jibber jabber from me.

My Dad is also a stamp collector, and my Grandparents collected coins. Collecting together really brought us closer together in so many ways--I learned so much about my loved ones that I would have otherwise never been able to appreciate.

Welcome to the family of family inspired collectors. My grandmother gave me a post card she received in her youth (1906) back about 1962. It was from an aunt postmarked at the small rural post office run by her father (postmaster). Over the years both my wife and son joined in this hobby. Hopefully you can help share your interest with future generations, too.

Sometimes I'm sure collecting is genetic.

My Dad was a collector/hoarder. It took a good while to sort it all out after he died.

I'm sure there'll be plenty of members who will be able to help you with your collecting questions.
