Image of 2004 international post Issue Art Of Papunya Tula. These are some of the hardest to find used interpost sets I have ever searched for. Do you think a person could get the cancel in the zone as per the 4 examples or is it a machine with a bit of movement as each 1st day cover goes through the canceling machine? I have not gone through the many I have to get cancels that look the same this is how they came out of the tub. |

CTO's without a date, some would call them Cinderellas.
I avoid this form of CTO to the max.

Quote: One thing that concerns me is how anybody in the trade can purchase a multitude of mint stamps & yearbooks presumably at face value from Australia post apply their own CTO cancel and then resell at a fraction of the cost? How can I have purchased 200 of these M/S mint that only belong to Auspost's year book? What would happen if I used them for mailing? |

KGV Collector, You may have purchased the Concession M/S from "Status International", no idea, don't care. Why would they not go through APO, of coarse they would, they are legal tender, are they not. Put one on a cover, send it to yourself The scans I have put up here on this post(supposedly cancelled, which is crap, printed ink stamps are they not) I purchased full sheets totaling $10,000 at face for maximum 1.5cents each |

Had the concession mini sheet a long time before they got to status and ebay. You are not going to get the harder/to not so easy CTO's for...... Take your understand of useing canceled stamps as mailing to a legal APO worker and you will get the truth about your ideas. Very creative ones at that. Quote:
Here is a PIC of such stamps on a cover(MY TEST), as you will all see, going through the APO system, (NO PROBLEM), WHY, because they are not cancelled, they are a FULLY INK printed item . While you get the truth about useing canceled stamp as mailing ask who can use & buy mint concession stamps. There are APO workers who check a small % of mail while it is being processed by the Auspost system. |

Any sort of pen or pencil mark on a stamps is a Auspost canceled stamp as well even if it was a letter addresses pen mark.
Had a great time with the APO legal team over a couple of days when trying to get my own legal stamp canceler.
CTO's, 1st day covers, maxicards with canceled stamp, stamp & coin cover and the classic pen cancel were all talked about. Could not even get a positive anything off them letting me use my own canceler.
Even talked about the need to cancel stamps that go through their system without being canceled and end up in kiloware.
Edit- Talk about means by email. |

The issue of the cost to buy CTO sheets has been opened up. No need say anything more about that or those comments.
But a great tip on buying bricks & mortar auction houses lot that do not sell and the classic being they say you can buy them at reserve price after auction.
The tip is give the unsold auction lots a lower than res offer to the auction house. They might be a bit stiff at 1st but after they have the same lot not selling for a number of auctions your offer become attractive to the auction house seller as they still get their 20% from buyer & seller. They can only say yes or no! Go for it! |
