Sorting through a box of stamps I came across this. My guess is a Scott 145, no grill. Stamp Smarter seems to agree.

What do you all think?

I just love these stamps.

As a youth growing up in San Francisco during the '60s I would take the bus downtown to Market Street. Major department stores in those days all had stamp shops inside. I got my first look at this beautiful baroque 1-cent blue stamp in a department store window. I think the price was ten cents. I've been hooked on classic U.S. ever since.

Nice pair! It looks like Scott 182 to me, since it has the secret mark (dash in the circle to the top left of the numeral "1"), and soft paper.
