I came across a Fort Atkinson, WI precancel that is apparently a local handstamp (L-2 HS) on the 1c 552. WHen I compared it to two others I had (in the picture it is copared to the 553 it is clear that the distance between the bars is much narrower, although the type/font seems to match. There is no other type that is similar. Is this a valid precancel? Do handstamps have this much variation in the spacing of the bars? Since this is a local there is no information in the precancel catalog of what the spacing should be.

Thanks,
