What is the first dog to appear on a stamp. My money is on the Newfoundland dog, SC#56 1887. I.m this asking for a new collector as I don't collect topicals. Thanks for any help.

The ATA has Dogs (3523) on a checklist. The PDF below can tell you how to order one.
