I contacted ASDA. Anthoy's was a member, but has not paid their 2018 dues. ASDA will be contacting them today and asking them to either pay their dues or drop the logo.
At the same time they will be mentioning the long list of Scott #315 that have clearly been trimmed.
We'll see what the response is.

And, sadly, the bidders on this Anthony's lot don't appear to be newcomers to the hobby. |

I'd imagine with the declining membership the ASDA will take in anyone that writes them a check. |

Stalizer. Surely an organization should be more picky about the quality of members if the membership is in decline. I think it more likely they have nothing to flag up that someone ought not to be a member. Probably once you leave an organisation all records are deleted. |

The ASDA is not helping their cause by granting the likes of Anthony's membership. |

I have begun to associate the ASDA logo with the cartel. I hesitate to bid on anything where the dealer is showing that logo.

Quote: I have begun to associate the ASDA logo with the cartel. I hesitate to bid on anything where the dealer is showing that logo. Now that's going a bit too far IMO. There are some genuinely good people that are part of the ASDA. It's just that like any large organization, it can sometimes be paralyzed as far as acting on complaints (that and the petty little thing known as due process). |

But the thing is that I hear a lot of talk here about the cartel and one thing they all have in common is the ASDA logo. So if I avoid the logo, I avoid the cartel (as well as a lot of other good dealers). So I do not think that it is going to far. |

Hmmm. It bothers me still. I looked at a lot that were Id'd as cartel and seem to have seen the logo often. I just avoid the logo. I feel safer. When all they want is the yearly fees and seem to have no integrity, then their logo has no value. |

I have not seen where the cartel is using the ASDA logo. I equate the logo with Anthony's and I feel queasy. |

Anthony's is as corrupt (albeit not as well organized as the cartel) as any stamp firm in the business. They knowingly and willingly deceive by selling altered and misattributed stamps. They alone are good enough reason to question the ASDA logo, and and degree of credibility it affords collectors. |
