Yes, I presume that the dealer selling the lot has pulled out any glassines with more valuable stamps, and at least sampled the glassines where a common stamp may hide a scarcer one. I just see heaps of stuff that would take up cupboard space for years, unless disposed off at a giveaway price - indeed, I have plenty of this myself.

I was thinking the same thing Dan and Geoff. How would an established dealer let promising and valuable stamps out of his grasp?

Let me guess, Anthony won?
I bet he would find hundreds of rare ones (with a little alteration here and there).

Good Grief! Almost impossible to contemplate putting those envelopes together and boxing them nice and neat in the first place. Still, it might be plausible for a large stamp club with lots of free labour, to buy the lot and have a big show where the club offers the envelopes at a buck apiece. Or, $200 per box. That could work.

(SORRY FOLKS, NO PAWING THRU THE STAMPS.)

Bought a lot of precancels almost that big years ago. Still have 3 boxes to go thru after nearly 15 years. I am now sick of precancels and selling off my stock and then large portions of my collection.
