I have your Austrian just about ready, A near complete famous "Costumes" set,
except the eerie 3 groschen....(The lowest value, but hardest to find )

and all I have stamps from the 1950's Austria (strangely harder to get in the Austria catalogue)

Philately 101...It is generally wise to assume any apparent rarity, is going to be the common stamp.

Ceylon type A2 (A very handsome stamp)
Scott advice : Type A2 "frequently found with corners repaired"

1859 CV : $6,500 / $1,400

Addressing my example in turn

Perf 12½, Watermark 1b (Here, I had to eat humble pie, and reach for the Gibbons)



Watermark = 1b (Type SG6)

Damaged and repaired corner. (top right corner)

My $6,500 stamp turns out to be CV$15 (Sc#58A 1867 2s deep blue)

Seek Opinions.

I may have a Forgery on Watermarked paper.

Ceylon Scott type A2 Nine Pence.
1. Dodgy Postmark.
2. Perf 13, No Watermark 6 (Large Star) exists on a perforated 13 stamp.
Stamp design is 27mm long, 18 teeth, the math confirms P13.3

3. Colour.

I'll post the suspect felon, by herself, then with a Sc #55A (1879) for engraving study.
