Hi,

My twin sister ordered a Philalux 3 and to test it we decided to place a strip of 4 Douglas MacArthur stamps (1424). Everything looked normal until we got to the last stamp and what we saw made us laugh out loud.

You can see the stamp on the right looks like someone punched him in the nose and now it's bleeding.

What do you guys think?

Someone hit MacArthur on the nose? No, just kidding. What you see is fairly common, just a bit of drop-out of the plate that printed the taggant on the stamps. These plates were sometimes worn out plates that could not be used for other purposes. Since the tagging is not normally seen the quality is not that important

Hi Peter,

As we're learning all about the tagging process and the various taggants, etc. we figured it had to do with the plate running out of ink or worn out (just as you said).

We just thought it was hilarious that it fell exactly under his nose...and he's a general so maybe he made someone mad. :D
